CSS Zen GardenVor fast fünf Jahren rief der kanadische Freelancer Dave Shea das international anerkannte CSS Zen Garden Projekt ins Leben. Bis heute gilt diese Seite für viele Webdesigner als Quell der Inspiration. Ende 2007 habe ich es mit einem eigenen Screendesign in die offiziellen Beiträge des CSS Zen Garden geschafft. Das von mir erstellte Stylesheet wurde unter dem Aspekt maximaler Cross-Browser-Kompatibilität entwickelt. Die CSS-Datei ermöglicht es, die Inhalte der Seite in über 40 Versionen der gängigsten Browser fehlerfrei und nahezu identisch ausgeben zu können.

    Hi,

    i liked the design you’ve done here. Found it on Zen garden as i visit that site frequently.

    Can i use your design / images on my site? and put something to mention that the design was done by you and have a link to your page http://benklemm.de?

    This is a magnificent design, one of my favorites on CSS Zen Garden. Far too many submissions to the zen garden are nothing more than interesting art projects, completely useless if they were to actually be a website. This, on the other hand, is stylish, clean, and useful! Thank you very much for submitting it, I may very well borrow some of these ideas whenever I get around to redesigning my website.

    Hey Ben, gefällt mir echt gut. Ist auch schon was älter, oder? Und wie ich sehe hast du auch ein neues “Portfolio” on, dass gefällt auch, ich mags minimal, sehr gut. Sag mal bist du irgendwann auch mal zum Quatschen zu erreichen oder bist du Full Service Agent?

    Wonderful example of an attractive AND user friendly web design. I agree with the comment above . Not all the Zen Garden submissions are as usable as your design. I appreciate the simplicity while still maintaining visual interest. Five stars! :)

    Isn’t the whole point of CSS to allow one to change the presentation layer without regard to the source, whether that is static HTML or HTML that is dynamically generated on the server through some mechanism such as PHP or ASP? Unfortunately the majority of accepted official designs at the CSS Zen Garden fail miserably in this regard because most renditions require all manner of custom images.

    Whether one agrees or disagrees as to the applicability of the individual designs with reference to their usability versus their artistic content, IMO the CSS Zen Garden fails miserably to promote the use of CSS as the layout control method due to the requirement for the number of custom elements.

    I am Tanguy from France just want to say that we are redoing our website (because the current one is not really pretty) and thank for CSS Zen Garden, it is really useful. Because we have understood that it is necessary to do everything (even positionning) with CSS.
